Course Outline

Advanced ground schooling on the following subjects:

  • Advance Air law
  • Advance Helicopter General Knowledge
  • Advance Helicopter Flight Performance & Planning
  • Advance Human Performance
  • Advance Meteorology
  • Advance Navigation
  • Advance Operational Procedures
  • Advance Principles of Flight
  • Radiotelephony

A Private Helicopter Pilot certificate is pre-requisite in order to acquire a Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate. Commercial Helicopter Pilot ground school averages one hundred (100) hours of ground schooling and additional minimum flight time of one hundred ten (110) hours over and above the Private Helicopter Pilot flight time acquired. Rating on a higher horsepower helicopter is required.

Flight Simulator Training with Instrument ground schooling are to be undertaken for the helicopter pilot to have Instrument Rating.

CAAP Written and Practical tests are to be hurdled in order to acquire the Commercial Helicopter Pilot License. This license allows the holder to make a living as a pilot thereafter.

If your desire is to fly for a living, then you are being paid to safely fly an aircraft from destination to destination. With this comes a lot of responsibility, and you will need the flying, decision making and crew resource management skills to accomplish the job in a professional manner.

A Private Helicopter Pilot certificate is the first and foremost requirement in receiving your Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate. Other requirements include passing a number of tests required by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) which involve written  Knowledge and Practical examinations; successful completion of both tests will award the Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate.

In becoming a Commercial Helicopter Pilot, the pilot may be paid for a living.

CAAP Minimum Required Flight Hours is at least one hundred fifty (150) hours of flight time. Flight training includes advanced commercial maneuvers and emergency procedures.
